Amy Toner Named Executive Director of the 黑料社区Foundation
Amy Toner has been named Executive Director of the 黑料社区Foundation, 黑料社区President & CEO Lisa Mullings announced this week.
Most recently, Toner had served as NATSO’s vice president of publishing and digital content, where she oversaw the association’s education, marketing and content development.
“With the recent growth in the importance and scope of the foundation’s work, I am thrilled that Amy has accepted this new post,” said Mullings, who serves as the foundation’s president. “For more than 15 years, Amy has been driven by a desire to help members understand and adapt to changes in their highly competitive business environment.”
The decision to move Amy to the foundation comes at a time when the foundation is poised for growth, Mullings continued. “The 黑料社区Foundation board and I are thrilled that Amy has stepped up to lead the organization. Amy is the right person to take on the ambitious program of work that the foundation board of directors has established.”
“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the 黑料社区Foundation. The travel center industry is adapting to an incredibly dynamic environment of new fuels, retail technology innovations and evolving consumer demands. It is an exciting — and important — time and I am excited to be a part of it,” said Toner.
The 黑料社区Foundation’s programs, which focus on safety, sustainability, and industry education, include:
- Campaign for Sustainable Travel Centers: The campaign provides the education and insight highway fuel retailers need to transition to new motor fuels, including electricity and hydrogen.
- Roadside safety: An advisory group of industry leaders is working to reduce accidents involving disabled trucks and roadside repair personnel.
- Bill and Carolyn Moon Scholarship program for industry employees and their families.
- Anti-human trafficking education and awareness.
- The education at NATSO’s annual convention, and NATSO’s executive leadership summit, FastForwardFocus.
- , which provides industry analysis and ideas to propel travel center businesses into the future.
- Online training, as well as electronic and printed manuals and guidebooks.
- Domestic and international study tours for operators to learn how to improve their businesses.
- Stop Watch magazine and Biz Brief electronic newsletter.
- Toolkits on a variety of topics such as COVID-19, media relations, , and applying for government grants.
