Right now, it may seem impossible to think past today, but the world is still turning and so is your inventory, so you’ve got to be thinking about its future.

In this video podcast, Darren Schulte, NATSO鈥檚 vice president, membership, and Amy Toner, NATSO鈥檚 vice president, publishing and digital content, embrace Christmas in July with their discussion of seasonal merchandise.

The Survey Results Are In: The 黑料社区Show Is A Must Attend

We鈥檙e not one of those companies that asks you to spend time filling out a survey and then does nothing with the information. So for those of you who responded to our attendee survey, thank you on behalf of everyone for helping making The 黑料社区Show better for all.

Coin: The Other Black Card

I’d like to introduce you to Coin — the first universal credit card in the U.S. This is the other black card — one that stores multiple credit and loyalty cards in conjunction with a user’s smart phone. With the push of a button, the user can swap from their Visa to their Amex and to their loyalty card for your business with another push.

There are very few better examples of modern technology integrating into everyday must carry items with the promise of making life just a little bit easier.

Know Your Truckstop鈥檚 Traffic

You need to start understanding your online traffic to understand your customer better and how to reach them. I was working with a member who wanted to use his website to reach more truck drivers. That sounded great, but there was a problem: when I looked at his website鈥檚 analytics (performance metrics), I found that his online customer is most likely not a truck driver.

White’s 2.0: Destination Station

The Berkstresser’s recently completed their second remodel of White’s Travel Center and this one is somehow more impressive than the first. Under the Berkstresser’s direction, White’s evolved into a true family establishment and a home away from home for many. The latest incarnation, White’s 2.0 as I call it, not only strengthens that sense of home, but also provides the opportunity to bring a little bit of your travels home thanks to some retail innovation, which I was fortunate enough to witness at their Grand Opening celebration for their expansion — aptly named Destination Station.

How Trail鈥檚 Travel Center Is Defining Its Business Online And Why You Should Too

When you鈥檙e stuck in the throws of the day鈥檚 latest drama, it鈥檚 hard to remember that your truckstop is being judged anywhere other than the here and now, but that鈥檚 just not the case. It鈥檚 difficult to believe that your truckstop exists anywhere other than the large patch of dirt next to the highway, but operators have begun to realize that their truckstop exists separately on the Internet.

One such operator, Dustin Trail of Trail鈥檚 Travel Center in Lea Alberta, Minnesota, spoke to his experience in the online world at The 黑料社区Show. Dustin shared insight from his yearlong journey in taking control of Trail鈥檚 Travel Center鈥檚 online presence and the possible impact it鈥檚 had on his travel center.

Getting Started with an Online Presence for Your Truckstop

As NATSO鈥檚 information technology director, one of the most frequently asked questions that trickles back to me is how to market your truckstop online effectively. The two most important places to start in managing your online presence are Yelp and Google, as they power the business listings on your customer’s phone.
