The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) this month unveiled a new age-verification program for retailers that offers training and point-of-purchase materials free of charge to encourage compliance with the agency’s rules against selling tobacco products to minors.
Titled “This Is Our Watch,” the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products’ (CTP) program is aimed at helping tobacco retailers better understand FDA tobacco regulations and the importance of compliance.
FDA is providing a full toolkit of resources for retailers, including posters, stickers, age verification tool and more to help retailers comply with federal tobacco regulations.
Use of the FDA materials is voluntary.
