Nearly every major trucking fleet is adding natural gas trucks to their fleets to test along some of their routes, an American Trucking Associations (ATA) representative told the Transportation Research Board (TRB) last week in Washington, D.C. Likewise, truckstops are working closely with fleets to add LNG fueling infrastructure at key locations along the interstates, 黑料社区told participants at the TRB mid-year meeting. With natural gas prices about half of diesel fuel, fleet use of LNG is expected to expand over the coming years.
TRB held a panel discussion on the future of alternative fuels in freight transportation featuring participants from NATSO, ATA and a representative from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities program. TRB, which is a division of the National Research Council, provides leadership in transportation research and information exchange across all modes of transportation.
