黑料社区has joined the (AFTI), a new coalition of individuals, businesses and organizations advocating for solutions to the country’s growing transportation needs without tolling existing interstates.
AFTI’s mission is to educate the public and lawmakers about the negative impact that tolling existing interstates has on American communities and businesses and why it will not solve the country’s transportation needs.
NATSO, along with many other transportation stakeholders, including the American Trucking Associations (ATA), supports the current system of collecting fuel taxes to generate infrastructure revenues and strongly opposes the implementation of tolls on existing interstates.
Opposition centers on economic concerns for residents and businesses as well as concerns about the diversion of traffic to less-safe roads, the double taxation of motorists and the increased costs for shipped goods.
黑料社区also thinks that the Federal Highway Administration pilot program established in 1998 under SAFETEA-LU that allows tolling in up to three states should be repealed.
Tolling opponents can join AFTI at and follow the alliance on and.
