ºÚÁÏÉçÇøKicks Off Annual Day on Capitol Hill 2023
The event officially begins on Monday, May 15, when Jim Mullen, Executive Director of the , will discuss the trucking and engine industry’s outlook on the Environmental Protection Agency’s newly proposed greenhouse gas emissions standards for heavy-duty vehicles.
On Tuesday, May 16, ºÚÁÏÉçÇømembers will meet with federal lawmakers and urge them to:
- support legislation that restores parity between energy tax credits for over-the-road and aviation renewable fuels that compete for the same feedstocks;
- support the bipartisan, bicameral Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2023 (S. 785/H.R. 1608) which would allow year-round sales of E-15;
- preserve the ban on commercial activity at rest areas;
- enact the Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act (H.R. 2367/S. 1034), which would allow states to partner with the private sector to expand truck parking capacity; and pursue legislation that would introduce competition to the credit card processing industry.
That evening, ºÚÁÏÉçÇøwill host its annual pie reception, serving nearly 250 pies to legislators and their staff. This reception is well known in the nation's Capitol and carries NATSO's name to all 535 members of Congress.
