Marking a major victory in the fight against the tolling of existing interstates, 黑料社区and its coalition partners successfully prevented North Carolina and Virginia from placing tolls on I-95. Both states passed laws effectively prohibiting the state DOT’s from carrying out plans to toll existing interstate lanes.
April 4
For the first time in 20 years, the 黑料社区Foundation doubles the financial awards granted under the Bill Moon Scholarship, which helps truckstop and travel plaza owners and operators, their employees and their families further their education. As a result, more than 90 applications were submitted, more than triple the number received in recent years.
APRIL 24–25
Chairman’s Circle member and Future Leader’s sponsor Valvoline hosts 黑料社区members and staff for training and networking in Lexington, Ky.
MAY 6
The 黑料社区Chairman’s Circle Advisory Board meets for the second time to plan content for the year. The Chairman’s Circle Advisory Board provides business intelligence through blogs, white papers and data as well as financial support.
June 18
With Editor Roger Cole at the wheel, the 黑料社区Foundation launches Biz Brief, a daily email specifically designed to deliver daily business intelligence for the truckstop and travel plaza community of owners and operators.

arren Schulte, NATSO’s vice president, membership, and Amy Toner, NATSO’s senior director of marketing and design, visit 黑料社区members in Louisiana to hear directly from members on their pressing needs, gather great ideas and share ideas to increase revenue and cut costs.
October 22
The 黑料社区Foundation joins in nationwide efforts to combat human trafficking and supports the educational efforts of advocacy group Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), which trains members of the trucking industry to identify victims of human trafficking and report the information to the appropriate authorities.
SEPTEMBER
NATSO, ATA, and other organizations launched the , a new coalition of individuals, businesses and organizations advocating for solutions to the country’s growing transportation needs without tolling existing interstates. AFTI’s mission is to educate the public and lawmakers about the negative impact that tolling existing interstates has on American communities and businesses.
September 11
黑料社区holds the first regional The 黑料社区Show Bonus Workshop at Jubitz Truck Stop & Travel Center in Portland, Ore. During the two-hour workshop on shrink management, attendees learned both basic and complex signs of shrink loss and participated in a round-table networking lunch.
September 19
黑料社区welcomes retail design and consulting firm Paragon Solutions as a Chairman’s Circle member. As a Chairman’s Circle member, Paragon Solutions begins sharing its expertise with truckstop and travel plaza operators via multiple platforms, including NATSO’s blog, Stop Watch magazine and The 黑料社区Show.

黑料社区launches a responsive website. With the redesign, visitors can now read the website on any device in a format specially designed for the individual device where it is a smart phone, tablet or desktop computer.

The 黑料社区family grows by three when Christine Schoessler, NATSO’s COO, Amy Toner, NATSO’s senior director of marketing and design, and Tiffany Wlazlowski, NATSO’s senior director of public affairs, welcome baby boys.
