03-14-2022The bipartisan Infrastructure investment and Jobs Acts enacted in late 2021 includes two different grant programs for electric vehicle charging and other alternative fuel infrastructure (natural gas, hydrogen and propane). Most of the $7.5 billion available is expected to go toward EV charging stations. Any business interested in learning more about these grant opportunities should contact its state department of transportation as soon as possible to express interest and get a sense of how the department intends to distribute the grant dollars.

Specifically, USDA said the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentives (HBIIP) program aims to encourage a comprehensive approach to marketing higher blends by sharing the costs relating to upgrading of fuel dispensers (gas and diesel pumps), related equipment, and other infrastructure required at a location to ensure the environmentally safe availability of fuel containing ethanol blends greater than 10 percent or fuel containing biodiesel blends greater than 5 percent.
