NATSO, representing the nation鈥檚 truckstops and travel plazas, the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) and the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA) urged Members of Congress to oppose the Moving Forward Act, a $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill, ahead of today鈥檚 House vote. The legislation includes a focus on climate change policies but includes provisions that will discourage private businesses from investing in electric vehicle charging infrastructure and stifle the market鈥檚 transition to electric vehicles.

NATSO, along with 10 associations representing cities and communities, tens of thousands of off-highway foodservice businesses and blind merchants that manage vending machines at Interstate rest areas, sent a letter April 8 to the Federal Highway Administration regarding its recent announcement that it will not enforce the federal rest area commercialization ban against states that allow commercial food trucks to operate and sell food at interstate rest areas.

NATSO, the national association representing truckstops and travel plazas, along with the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA) and the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), submitted an amicus brief last week to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals providing support for the Environmental Protection Agency鈥檚 (EPA) determination that the point of obligation under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) remain with refiners and importers. 黑料社区filed the brief in response to legal challenges from some refiners and importers that argue EPA should move the point of obligation to downstream entities.

黑料社区and trade groups representing businesses that provide the majority of motor fuel retail sales in the United States urged the state of Maryland to reject a proposal from the state鈥檚 utility companies to spend more than $100 million on a statewide network of electric charging stations and instead work with the fuel retail industry to deploy electric charging infrastructure via the existing privately developed motor fuels infrastructure.

A coalition of trade associations representing a broad cross-section of highway-based businesses and local communities urged Arizona’s federal lawmakers to oppose efforts to commercialize Interstate rest areas, including Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey鈥檚 recent petition to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to allow the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to operate commercial rest areas under a pilot program.
