Marking a major victory for 黑料社区members in the longstanding fight against tolling existing Interstate highways, a Federal judge ruled that Rhode Island鈥檚 truck-only tolling system known as 鈥淩hodeWorks鈥 is unconstitutional and ordered the state to stop charging tolls on tractor trailers within 48 hours.

In a motion filed Aug. 24 in the U.S. District Court of Rhode Island, RIDOT cited the Tax Injunction Act, which restricts the power of the federal district courts to prevent the collection or enforcement of state taxes, as well as the 11th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
