黑料社区joined eight trade associations representing thousands of food retailers in urging Congress to reject recent proposals to impose new processing and credit card swipe fees on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) authorized retailers as higher costs and administrative complexities threaten their ability to provide affordable food to vulnerable Americans.

05-31-2017 by NATSO Trump Budget Proposes Fee for SNAP Retailers

In its proposed Budget released on May 23, the Trump Administration proposed an “application fee” for retailers seeking to participate in the SNAP program and redeem SNAP benefits, formerly known as “food stamps.” The fee would be paid during the authorization process (or reauthorization process for stores currently participating in the program). Store authorization lasts for several years.
