The half-day meeting will include representatives of the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho Trucking Association, Idaho State Police, Idaho Transportation Department and Truckers Against Trafficking and is aimed at coordinating ways to fight human trafficking within the state. Panels will delve into local trends, case studies and victim-centered approaches to responding to suspected incidents of human trafficking.

When Jessica Chapman, a cashier at Sapp Bros., in Junction City, Kansas, noticed a woman who seemed distressed, she drew on her human trafficking awareness training and caught the woman鈥檚 eye to ask if she was alright. The woman approached Chapman and acknowledged that she wasn鈥檛; but the man taking advantage of her was inside the store, so Chapman quietly jumped into action to help.
