Trump Administration Eases Transition to ELDs

/

The Trump Administration is offering truck drivers a nearly four-month window to start complying with the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Rule set to take effect Dec. 18. From Dec. 18 to April 1, any truck driver caught without an electronic logging device will be cited and allowed to continue driving, as long as he or she is in compliance with the hours-of-service (HOS) rule. Any violations incurred during that time period will not count toward a company’s safety record. Normal enforcement of the regulation will resume after April 1.
